    About LoanAmerica

LoanAmerica® is a private student lending company focused on bridging funding gaps for students at vocational schools, career colleges, and community colleges. Millions of students are about to lose access to adequate federal financial aid under new legislation. We're building the solution, offering responsible private loan products that help students complete their programs and launch their careers. We're a startup with secured funding, headquartered in Las Vegas, NV. You'll be joining a small, fast-moving team where your work has immediate and visible impact.

    Role Summary

LoanAmerica is looking for a sharp financial professional to own our books and build our accounting infrastructure from the ground up. You'll manage all financial operations for a growing private student lending company, from day-to-day bookkeeping to financial reporting, compliance, and cash management. If you want to go beyond debits and credits and actually shape how a lending company tracks, reports, and manages its money, this is the role.

    Responsibilities

    • Own the full general ledger, manage AR/AP, payroll processing, bank reconciliations, and month-end close
    • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements, management reports, and investor-ready packages
    • Build and maintain the chart of accounts tailored to a lending operation (origination fees, interest income, loan loss reserves, etc.)
    • Track key portfolio metrics: origination volume, default rates, delinquency aging, net charge-offs
    • Manage cash flow forecasting and funding draw schedules with capital partners
    • Ensure compliance with Nevada business tax obligations, federal reporting, and state lending regulations
    • Coordinate with external auditors, tax preparers, and legal counsel as needed
    • Implement internal accounting controls appropriate for a growing financial services company
    • Manage vendor relationships and office operational expenses
    • Support financial modeling for new school partnerships and product pricing decisions

    Qualifications

    Required

    • 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience (bookkeeping through financial statement preparation)
    • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, or NetSuite
    • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling basics)
    • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
    • Self-starter who can work independently and build processes from scratch

    Preferred

    • CPA license or actively pursuing CPA
    • Experience in financial services, lending, or fintech accounting
    • Familiarity with loan portfolio accounting (ASC 310, allowance for loan losses, interest accruals)
    • Experience with lending-specific software or loan management systems
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

    What We Offer

    • No state income tax (Nevada)
    • Health, dental, and vision insurance
    • CPA exam support / continuing education reimbursement
    • PTO and paid holidays
    • Direct report to CEO, significant influence on company financial strategy
