    Role Summary

    LoanAmerica is hiring a Verification Specialist to handle the critical front-end of our loan processing pipeline. You'll verify borrower documents, confirm student enrollment with schools, and serve as a key point of contact for applicants. If you're detail-oriented, tech-comfortable, and good with people, this is an excellent entry point into the financial services industry with real growth potential.

    Responsibilities

    • Verify borrower identity, income, employment status, and enrollment using submitted documentation
    • Contact school registrars and financial aid offices to confirm enrollment status and program eligibility
    • Review and process required documents: tax returns, pay stubs, bank statements, enrollment verification letters
    • Respond to borrower inquiries via phone, email, and chat, answer questions about application status, required documents, and timelines
    • Maintain accurate and organized records in the loan origination system
    • Flag incomplete, inconsistent, or suspicious documentation for Underwriter review
    • Support loan disbursement processing and school certification workflows
    • Meet daily/weekly processing targets while maintaining accuracy standards
    • Assist with borrower onboarding and welcome communications
    • Cross-train on basic customer support functions

    Qualifications

    Required

    • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree a plus)
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Comfortable with technology, ability to learn new software quickly
    • Professional phone manner and clear written communication
    • Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion

    Preferred

    • 6+ months experience in financial services, banking, insurance, or related field
    • Experience working in a school financial aid office or student services
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a significant plus for the student populations we serve
    • Familiarity with document verification processes or KYC procedures
    • Previous call center, customer service, or hospitality experience
